An AI form builder that drafts your form, then hands it to you to edit
An AI form builder turns a plain-language description into a draft form, with questions, answer types and options. In Ribbit, you describe the form in a sentence, the AI drafts it once, and you edit everything by hand before you publish. The free plan includes 5 AI generations a day and 50 a month, with unlimited forms and responses under fair use.

What is an AI form builder?
An AI form builder, sometimes called an AI form generator, writes the first version of a form for you from a description. You say what the form is for and what it should ask, and it drafts the questions and picks an answer type for each.
What happens next is where builders differ. Some let the AI keep changing the form you have, while others only generate new ones: Google’s help page (opens in a new tab) says editing an existing form with Gemini in Google Forms isn’t supported, and that the generated form replaces the existing one. Ribbit’s AI tab keeps working on the form you have, one change at a time.
How to make a form with AI in Ribbit
Ribbit is edit-first: the AI writes the first draft and you make it right.
- Describe itWrite what the form is for and what it should ask, in a sentence or a few, up to 2,000 characters.
- Get a draftThe AI drafts the questions and picks answer types from 13, such as email, scale, date and multiple choice, opening with a welcome screen.
- Edit it by hand, then publishReword, reorder, add logic and endings, pick a colour, font and background, preview it at phone and desktop size, then share one link. Respondents see one question at a time and need no account.

Or describe your own form. For more prompts that work as starting points, see our guide to AI form prompts.
What’s free in Ribbit’s AI form builder?
The AI draft, editing and publishing are all free. The free plan includes 5 AI generations a day and 50 a month, and every AI request counts: the first draft and each change you ask for in the AI tab. Edits by hand never count.
- Unlimited forms and unlimited responses, under a fair-use policy.
- Conditional logic and up to 10 endings, with a Flow board that maps every path.
- CSV export of every completed response.
Free forms show a small “Made with Ribbit” badge. Pro has no AI cap and puts your logo and name in place of the badge, with your own subdomain, drop-off analytics and 3 teammates plus you. It’s $29 a month, or $240 a year ($20 a month). Right now the first year is $150 with the early-bird price, applied automatically, then $240 a year. See pricing.

What the AI drafts, and what you finish
Ribbit’s AI writes the questions and a few settings. You finish the parts that decide how the form behaves and looks, in the editor, where you can see every path.
- The AI drafts the questions, answer types and options, the title and description, the button text, Ending 1’s message, a close date, and the accent colour and font.
- The AI tab edits the form you have, one request at a time: reword, reorder, add or remove questions. It marks each question it changed, so you can check its work.
- You set the logic: jump rules and up to 10 endings, free on every plan, mapped on the Flow board.
- You add the finish on Pro: designed ending pages and a redirect for each ending, your logo and name in place of the badge, and a signed webhook.
- You can edit everything by hand, and edits by hand never count toward the AI allowance.
What to check when choosing an AI form builder
Look past the first draft: whether the AI can change the form you have, whether the form can branch, what plan the AI needs and what the free plan caps. As of October 2026:
- Changing the draft. Can the AI edit the form you have, or only make a new one? Google’s help page says Gemini in Google Forms replaces the form. Ribbit’s AI tab edits in place and marks each question it changed.
- Branching. Google’s help page says Gemini in Forms can’t create forms with multiple sections. Every Ribbit form can branch: jump rules and up to 10 endings are free, mapped on the Flow board.
- The plan you need. Gemini in Forms needs an eligible Google Workspace or Google AI plan, and the chat-based Copilot in Microsoft Forms (opens in a new tab) needs a Microsoft 365 account and a Copilot licence. Ribbit’s AI drafting is on the free plan.
- AI usage limits. Tally (opens in a new tab) lists its AI among its free features, but neither Tally nor Youform gives a usage number on the pages we checked. Ribbit publishes its allowance: 5 generations a day and 50 a month on Free, and no cap on Pro.
- Free response limits. Fillout’s free plan (opens in a new tab) allows 1,000 responses a month and Jotform’s (opens in a new tab) 100 submissions a month. Ribbit doesn’t cap responses on the free plan, under fair use, and neither do Tally (opens in a new tab) or Youform (opens in a new tab).

Questions people ask
Is Ribbit’s AI form builder free? Is there a free AI form generator?
Yes. Ribbit’s free plan includes the AI draft and 5 AI generations a day and 50 a month, with unlimited forms and responses under fair use and no card needed. Pro has no AI cap.
Do I need an account to use it?
Yes, a free one: you sign in with a one-time email link, with no password and no card. The people who fill in your form don’t need an account.
Can I build a form without using AI?
Yes. Start from one of 52 templates, such as the contact form or the NPS survey, or from a blank form, and edit it by hand.
Can the AI add conditional logic?
No, you set logic yourself in the editor, where the Flow board shows every path. Jump rules and up to 10 endings are free on every plan; our conditional logic guide shows how to plan them.
Can I change a form after it’s published?
Yes. Edits to a live form stay unpublished until you choose Publish changes, so respondents never see a half-finished version.
